Why is art so unpopular? Why is it always mauled by critics ?Is a blank canvas an art ? ( I like to be diplomatic here so my fellow artists don't feel an itch but honestly I also don't get it!) Look I love abstract art but what is this?! plain white canvas with 4 parallel lines that an infant can draw! Modern art is very broad and can encompass a myriad of styles, materials, and techniques, that I get but not a plain white canvas or anything closely related to that !
Anyways, As Graham Fredrick famously articulated “To be human is to be an artist” and that perfectly explains everything ! Art is subjective and not peculiar ; perhaps an artist is not limited to represent one stream. It's simple yet fascinating . The word art is derived from the Latin term “ars” meaning skill or craft.
Art existed even before the human race evolved, channelising through nature, beautiful landscape, ocean, distinctive stones and so much ! Not only do we get to know art through the embedment of scriptures on caves and monuments but also by diving into the past providing tangible links to our collective heritage.
The beauty of art evokes a series of emotion, anger, sorrow ,a tinge of guilt and an illuminating joy.
From renaissance to modern art, the art industry is booming and valued at $ 520.05 billion in 2023. It is estimated to reach $ 889.86 billion by 2032. ( I hope I earn a tiny fraction from this , no caps)
